Busy Bees

Our Pre-school room allows children to become more independent and self-confident in what they can do in all areas of learning. We encourage children to be interested and motivated to learn. Daily activities include construction, modelling, role play, water, sand play, baking. Listening to stories and singing. Children are encouraged to develop their creative ideas both on paper and through expression. The children learn computer skills with simple educational computer programs, specially designed for children of this age group and we have an interactive smartboard. Several outdoor areas can be directly accessed by the children through patio doors and an additional doorway, throughout the day to encourage physical development, using bikes, hoops, steps and balls. Yoga and dance sessions help young children develop understanding of their bodies in addition to developing concentration and relaxation.

"Developing Awareness"

'Older children's early writing efforts are cherished and used as signs for visitors across the nursery. Staff use resources and pictures to support children's developing awareness of cultures different to their own'

"Ignite Curiosity"

Children go on regular trips out and learn about their community. They visit the butcher's shop and watch tree cutters at work. These rich experiences ignite curiosity and discussion around people's job roles.

The children enjoy den-making and regular welly-walks in the local community. Busy Bees also have the opportunity to take part in fortnightly dance classes.
